The Revival of the Art of Plaster Restoration

There is no substitute for the old world intricacies that grace historic structures. The creation and use of Lime Plaster and repair of walls and decorative elements has become a "dying art", as anyone who has tried to find a craftsman to consult or work on their own historic project, commercial or residential, knows well. Restoration processes must include old world formulas while utilizing products available today that will improve the durability and functionality of plaster and details.

Sarel Venter doesn't consider himself an expert in the field, though he expertly uses his problem solving and creative abilities to recreate and restore visions of craftsman from hundreds of years ago. Because there are as many different methods for plaster preparation and application as there were craftsmen and plasterers in days gone by, there has to be a bit of detective work going into a project. Sarel works well with these mysteries.

Adventures In Elegance Studios, Plaster Restoration Division is led by Mr. Sarel Venter. Sarel is originally from South Africa, and became a US Citizen in 2007. He has been rooted in historic Grafton West Virginia for the past years. He is currently travelling the US subcontracting his skills in historic plaster restoration.
